Liverpool signing Timo Werner could spell bad news for four Jurgen Klopp stars
The Liverpool squad may be welcoming Timo Werner this summer if the Reds get the deal over the line.
Liverpool: Pundits discuss possible Timo Werner transfer
Liverpool are actively exploring the prospect of signing Timo Werner at the end of the season, but his arrival could spell bad news for several of Jurgen Klopp's stars when it comes to game-time. Express Sport takes a look at which players could be affected if he seals a move to Anfield.
Divock Origi
The first player who may not be best pleased about Werner's arrival is Divock Origi.
The Belgian is a Liverpool legend following a series of defining contributions last season particularly in the Champions League semi-final and final, but he has struggled to make an impact this time around.
Origi's minutes are already few and far between meaning Werner's arrival could reduce his opportunities even more.
He has shown an exemplary attitude ever since joining the club but it may be time to finally move on.

Naby Keita
Keita played with Werner at RB Leipzig but his former team-mate may reduce his playing time.
Werner is likely to lead the line in a 4-2-3-1 with Roberto Firmino dropping deeper into the No 10 role.
That means Liverpool are likely to play with a double pivot in midfield.
Keita is usually best in a midfield three where he is given a license to roam forward.
It's hard to see him edging the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum for a place in the side if the system does indeed change.

Takumi Minamino
Minamino has had to be patient since arriving in January and has only made starts in the FA Cup.
The Japanese international needs a run of games in the side but competition for places is stronger than ever in both attack and midfield.
Minamino is better suited to a 4-2-3-1 system but is likely to be way down the pecking order, behind Firmino at the No 10.
There's no doubt that he is seen as a back up player so he will have to prove his worth whenever called upon.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Every now and again Klopp likes to field an attacking 4-4-2, with Oxlade-Chamberlain in his old position out wide.
There's no doubt that he prefers to play as a No 8 in midfield but it's hard to see him fitting into a two-man pivot.
Chamberlain is a different kind of option to Liverpool's other midfielders but it's safe to say he's most effective in a 4-3-3.
Unless Werner or one other member of the front three are benched, it's hard to see that happening.
