Liverpool: Alisson was an 'amazing signing' says expert
Former Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray has lavished praise on Alisson for his calming presence in goal for Liverpool and has also noticed another side to the goalkeeper’s game. Liverpool are on course to win their first league title in 30 years having built up a commanding 22-point lead over defending champions Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are on course to break all sorts of records with the title potentially set to be wrapped up by March.
Equally impressive though has been their defensive record of late having conceded just one league goal since the start of December.
Liverpool have had a history of leaky defences in the league but under Klopp that has completely changed with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the back line.
But one of the most successful pieces of business Liverpool have done in recent years has been the acquisition of Alisson.

He more than proved his worth in the Champions League-winning run last season - highlighted by his incredible save to deny Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik in the 92nd minute to confirm their passage to the last 16.
The Brazilian missed the start of this season through injury and took some time to fully recover but he has once again been at the forefront of Liverpool’s successful defensive record.
But Murray, who helped lead Wolves to the Premier League in the 2003 play-offs, has noticed how Alisson often foregoes the option for the more flamboyant saves.
“He's got the mentality and he's a real calm presence.
“He's so big and that will send fear into opposition strikers. Peter Schmeichel used to say that to me - you've already got one over them.
“Usually you get one or the other: either good with crosses, and can make saves, or fantastic with their feet.
“The top goalkeepers, which Alisson is, they have that all-round game.
“Now, with formations, it's 1-4-3-3. That's the continental mentality. Alisson helps Liverpool build from the back and dictate possession.
