Man Utd: Fernandes signing will ‘enhance’ Pogba says Ferdinand
Paul Pogba has already “checked out” of Manchester United and an agreement over him leaving in the summer will already be “done”, reckons former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop. Pogba is widely expected to push for a move away from United at the end of the season. The France star has repeatedly been linked with a dream move to Real Madrid or a return to Juventus.
Pogba has made just seven Premier League appearances this season due to an ongoing ankle injury.
He returned to action in December, making substitute appearances in the loss to Watford and Boxing Day win over Newcastle.
But it was later decided he needed an operation to resolve the problem.
Hislop says there must be some truth to the constant speculation over Pogba’s future and he reckons it has already been decided he will leave Old Trafford.

“I think this is done, I think he’s checked out,” Hislop told ESPN FC.
“That being said I thought David de Gea had checked out some 12 months ago.
“But I just feel from Paul Pogba, given the inconsistent performances, this lengthy injury… listen you can’t blame anyone for being injured but you just start to wonder, I just feel there’s been so much talk, there’s been so much smoke, at some point we’ve got to start to believe that there’s a fire.”
There is no set return date for Pogba at the moment following his operation.

“You understand [why Pogba had the operation] and you sympathise and I also thought there were some statements by [Mino] Raiola and his representatives that I don’t think was good or timely,” Hislop added.
“But from a player’s perspective, even though it’s in season, while Manchester United are struggling, you know you’ve got the Euros to come this summer and then the rest of us can sit here and speculate about what other plans he has this summer, it makes sense from his personal perspective.
“But at some point you’ve got to start reading the smoke signals.”
