Brazil team news: Predicted 4-2-3-1 line up to face Venezuela – Liverpool star drops out
BRAZIL are unlikely to make wholesale changes to their starting XI when the Selecao continue their Copa America campaign against Venezuela on Wednesday.
Copa America: Pundits discuss Brazil team without Neymar
Brazil got off to a positive start in the Copa America, easily cruising past Bolivia 3-0 on Saturday.
However, Tite’s side were being held to a 0-0 draw at half-time and were roundly booed by the home crowd - prompting an instant response after the break.
Philippe Coutinho scored two quick-fire goals to put Brazil in control before Everton bagged another in the closing minutes to seal the points.
Next up for the Copa America hosts is a clash with Venezuela at Arena Fonte Nova (1.30am UK Time) as they look to book their spot in the quarter-finals.
Neymar remains sidelined due to injury while Roberto Firmino appeared to be flagging last time out following his arduous domestic season with Liverpool.
Therefore, Gabriel Jesus and Everton are both in with a shout of leading the line ahead of Coutinho, who will again be deployed in the No 10 role.
Richarlison and David Neres are expected to line up out wide once more, although Willian is in contention.
Tite surprisingly selected both Fernandinho and Casemiro as holding midfielders against Bolivia and could well do so again as he looks for defensive stability.
The pair should line up in front of Marquinhos and Thiago Silva while Dani Alves is first-choice right-back.
Meanwhile, Filipe Luis started on the opposite flank against Bolivia but faces competition from Alex Sandro.
With Ederson doubtful, Alisson will start between the posts as Brazil look to continue a run that has seen them lose just once in their last 27 appearances.
Elsewhere, Luis Mago is suspended for Venezuela after picking up two yellow cards against Peru so Ronald Hernandez is expected to deputise.
