‘Behave yourself’ - Charlie Nicholas and Jeff Stelling CLASH over Arsenal on live TV
ARSENAL’s leaky defence means their Europa League tie against Valencia is NOT over, claims Gunners hero Charlie Nicholas.
Arsenal: Unai Emery reacts to 3-1 win over Valencia
Arsenal beat Valencia 3-1 in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday.
A brace from Alexandre Lacazette and a late strike from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the Gunners into the ascendency.
But Valencia easily could have scored more than the one goal they managed to get past goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Before Thursday’s match Arsenal had lost their last three matches, conceding three in each defeat.
No, absolutely [not], Arsenal’s defence, come on. Behave yourself!
Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling asked Nicholas: “Do you think that Europa League tie is over?”
But Nicholas said there was every chance the Spanish outfit could come back next week at home.
“No, absolutely [not], Arsenal’s defence, come on,” Nicholas responded.
“Behave yourself!
“I do think that Arsenal are in a strong position, I do expect them to get through. But this is not over, absolutely not.”
Arsenal face Brighton in their final Premier League home game of the season on Sunday.
And Nicholas is expecting a win for his former side if their attacking stars perform.
“The only thing I can trust is Aubameyang, Lacazette, in particular those two,” he added.
Arsenal were 'nervous' before Valencia match says Aubameyang
“But when you’re playing Brighton at home then [Mesut] Ozil has to play.
“So for those three, if they’re in the mood, Arsenal go and win this football match, it’s as simple as that.
“But believe me, Brighton will have opportunities, that is a guarantee.”
Arsenal will be without Aaron Ramsey due to a hamstring injury that has ended his final season at the club early.
