Manchester United have lost five of their last seven games in all competitions, which have seen them exit the Champions League and dent their top four pursuit.
The Red Devils travelled to Everton on Sunday to kickstart a vital week in which they also face Manchester City and Chelsea at home, after which their fate should be clear.
Solskjaer's players have come under fire recently for their disappointing form but Solskjaer sent a reminder to critics before the side's big week.
Before the Sunday lunchtime kick-off, Solskjaer said to Sky Sports: "Since Christmas we’ve been the best team, bar City. City have just got more points than us.

At the Everton pre-match press conference, Solskjaer was quizzed about the attitude of his players - a problem which was seemingly cured following Jose Mourinho's exit.
But the often buoyant 46-year-old acknowledged a slight dip in mentality in a rallying cry to his squad.
“Most of them have really impressed in their attitude and some need to get a reality check of where they're at," Solskjaer said.
"But most of these know they can improve if they keep working as they do."
