Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must learn from huge Jose Mourinho Man Utd transfer mistake - Moreno
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must learn from his predecessor Jose Mourinho and NOT sign Gareth Bale this summer.
That is according to ESPN FC pundit and former Venezuela international Alejandro Moreno.
Bale’s future at Real Madrid is in doubt after another difficult season at the Bernabeu.
Reports have claimed the Welshman does not get on with the majority of his team-mates and is an outsider of the squad.
Bale has also struggled on the pitch when he has been given the opportunity and received jeers from his own supporters.
You have to be able to learn from that and say ‘we don’t want any part of anything similar to this'
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past.
But Moreno believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must see what has happened to Alexis Sanchez and not make a move for the Real forward.
Sanchez joined United when he was 29 in January 2018 but has not been able to live up to his mega wages.
And Moreno can see a similar situation if Bale was to join the Red Devils this year.
“If you’re Manchester United and you have just gone through the Alexis Sanchez situation where you thought this is the guy that was going to make us a different team, an older star, a guy that now their legs are gone and is not quite what he used to be, then you have to be able to learn from that and say ‘we don’t want any part of anything similar to this, because this didn’t work and now we don’t know what to do with Alexis Sanchez’,” Moreno said.
“Nobody wants him, we don’t want him, we don’t play him, he’s not doing anything on the field - I would not touch Gareth Bale.
“And then you change it to the part of Real Madrid, the perspective of Real Madrid.
“It’s not only the fact that Gareth Bale has not been as good for you as you would have hoped he would have been for you, it’s the fact that he doesn’t even get along with his team-mates.
“So it’s not only [Zinedine] Zidane that’s an issue here, coming back.
“It’s also an issue that clearly there is a separation and a distance between the players and Gareth Bale.
“How he stays in that environment I have no idea.”
