Two Jimmys linked with Spain move
AXED Aberdeen managerial duo Jimmy Calderwood and Jimmy Nicholl are being lined up for a sunshine move to Spain.
They left Pittodrie after steering the Dons into Europe and now agent Bill McMurdo is using his extensive contacts on the continent to fix them up with a new club.
McMurdo said: “I have spoken to a few clubs and it is ongoing.
“The language barrier would be a bit of a problem at first, but big Jock Wallace went over to Sevilla and they had an interpreter with him and that worked well when he was there.
“The interpreter was there every day and there were no problems during big Jock’s time there.
“That shows it can be done and the two Jimmys would pick the language up in no time.
“I am talking to a couple of clubs at the moment over there and I am also busy with deals for a few Spanish players.”
McMurdo has a wealth of Spanish stars on his books, including Barcelona star Andres Iniesta.
He added: “It’s a busy time for me now with negotiating contracts for a few players, but not in this country, it’s mostly Spain at the moment.
“We will see what transpires in the next few weeks for the players and, of course, the two Jimmys.
“They did well at Aberdeen and got them into Europe for next season before leaving and Jimmy Calderwood has done well abroad before in Holland.”
