Celtic transfer news: Timothy Weah deal a statement to Rangers - expert claim
CELTIC signing Timothy Weah from PSG is a statement to Rangers not to get too excited, it has been claimed.
Weah has joined Celtic this week in a loan deal from PSG.
The American will join up with Brendan Rodgers’ side for the final five months of the Scottish Premiership season.
Celtic are currently in a title battle with Rangers, who have themselves made some big signings already this month.
Jermain Defoe has arrived from Bournemouth on an 18-month deal, while Steven Davis joins from Southampton.

Weah is looking for game time after struggling for minutes in France.
And European football expert Andy Brassell reckons a deal with Celtic will lay down a marker to their rivals.
“More of an attacking midfielder, can get to the box and score goals,” Brassell told talkSPORT, when asked about Weah.
“He made the most of his chance at the start of the season (when players were recovering from the World Cup) and looked pretty good.
“It will be interesting to see how he gets on.
“They’ve had Odsonne Edouard there of course. Weah is a cut above that.
“If he adapts to the physical side of it he should do really well for them.”
Asked about Rangers’ transfer spending, Brassell then added: “Rangers have also made some big signings as well. So this is a bit of a statement.”
Celtic are next in action on Saturday week when they face Airdrieonians in the Scottish FA Cup.
The Hoops then return to Premiership action with home games against St Mirren, Hamilton and St Johnstone.
Rangers, meanwhile, beat Celtic in the Old First last month and have Premiership trips to Kilmarnock and Livingston to come before the month is out.
