Arsenal news: Unai Emery claim made by Ian Wright after Tottenham win
UNAI EMERY has given Arsenal one thing and he proved that against Tottenham.
That is the opinion of former Arsenal striker-turned-pundit Ian Wright.
The Gunners played out a thrilling six-goal thriller at home to Tottenham yesterday, winning the north London derby 4-2.
Although Spurs were 2-1 up going into the break, Emery’s double substitution which saw Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey had the desired effect especially with the former getting on the scoresheet before Lucas Torreira netted his first Premier League goal 13 minutes from the time to wrap the game up.
And Wright thinks Emery’s style and tactics have given the Gunners more ‘intensity’.
“I thought that was fantastic,” Wright said on Match of the Day 2 when asked for his thoughts about the win.
“When you consider when he [Emery] came in, people said ‘be careful what you wish for’.
“They lost to City and Chelsea.
“He’s got a very meticulous approach, a very ruthless approach.
What he’s given Arsenal back now is that intensity. We got it back today
“We’ve seen he’s not afraid to make the changes.
“What he’s given Arsenal back now is that intensity.
“We got it back today.
Arsenal: Guendouzi’s car swarmed by fans after Tottenham win
“When you look at Spurs and the way they played against Chelsea, you needed Arsenal to come out firing.”
The Gunners’ win seems them leapfrog their bitter rivals into fourth spot in the table.
