Neymar to Barcelona: Marquinhos speaks out on Nou Camp return rumours

NEYMAR will not leave Paris Saint-Germain for either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

That is according to his Brazil and PSG team-mate Marquinhos.

The Brazil winger is the most expensive footballer in history, having signed for PSG in a £198m deal in 2017.

However, last week reports emerged that Neymar had requested a move back to Barcelona, as he misses life in Spain and playing alongside Lionel Messi.

Real Madrid have been long term admirers of Neymar, and even attempted to sign him when he was a youngster at Santos before he went to Barcelona.

Now, it appears that they are going back in for the superstar, amidst reports of him leaving the Parisians.

PSG defeated Aimens 5-0 on Saturday without Neymar, as the star was in Brazil recovering from the international break.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Marquinhos stated he believes that there is no chance Neymar will leave.

"I wish Real Madrid and Barcelona the best of luck in their attempt to bring Neymar away from here,” he said.

“People know what our president is like, how he is with his people and how he loves our important players.

"So I don't see any reason why he should leave. He has even denied it on social media so I can't speak for him, you should ask him."

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel backed up this opinion, and appeared to not want to talk about the subject.

“Pfft, I don't know about that, it is October!” he said on Saturday when asked about Neymar's situation.

On Friday, he took a stronger stance on the rumours.

“He is one of our players and has a contract, I do not think it is necessary to add anything else,” he said.

Neymar was back in Barcelona on Sunday, but there is no indication that it was to negotiate a move.

He posted a video on Instagram with the caption: “agora sim eu to em Barcelona”, which translates to: “Now I’m in Barcelona”.
