Ryan Babel hair: Netherlands star shows off RED hair and Liverpool fans react
RYAN BABEL has shown off his red new hairstyle for Netherlands’ game with France - and Liverpool fans are split over it.
Babel played for Liverpool between 2007 and 2011, before leaving the club for Hoffenheim.
He failed to score more than four league goals in a single season in the Premier League.
Babel has since done the rounds in Europe, playing in Turkey, Abu Dhabi and Spain.
Yet he is still only 31 years old and has played for manager Ronald Koeman once already in this international break.
Babel scored in the match against France tonight and sported the same close-cut red hair he displayed in Thursday’s tie with Peru.
And Liverpool fans were quick to notice the player.
“Ryan Babel with the red hair. #LFC shame it never worked out for him at Liverpool,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Ryan Babel - from the Liverpool era we cannot forget,” another said.
A third wrote: “Don’t know what’s more weird... the fact that Ryan Babel is starting for Holland or his hair style!”
A fourth said: “Babel’s hair colour is giving me life”
Another was surprised Babel was selected by Koeman, writing: “1. Ryan Babel is still getting into the Dutch team. 2. He is rocking a full head of bright red hair. #FRANED”
Some fans weren’t too impressed, however.
One wrote: “Despite the painful lack of creativity, the worst thing about the Dutch has to be Ryan Babel’s hair”
“Why the f*** Ryan Babel got pink hair,” another wrote.
And a third said: “Babel in midlife crisis? Because I can't work out what he's doing with that hair”
A French fan said: “honestly i dont know what's worst, Netherlands performance or babel's awful hair”
