Collingwood turns screw for England
PAUL Collingwood’s third Test century in nine innings drove England into a position of total dominance in the third Test.
Any feel-good factor the West Indies had following their stunning victory in Jamaica was buried beneath a mountain of runs as England clocked up 566-9 before they declared.
At the close, the West Indies were 55-1 in reply.
England have put themselves in a great position to win this Test and level the series if their fast bowlers can exploit the increasingly uneven bounce in the hastily prepared pitch at the Recreation Ground.
Collingwood’s 113 was another reminder of his fighting qualities and value to this team. He scored 135 against South Africa last August and 108 in Chennai against India, both under great pressure.
