Anthony Joshua will receive a 'whupping' - Dillian Whyte targets heavyweight champ
ANTHONY JOSHUA will receive a “whupping” from future opponent Dillian Whyte, but not before the Brixton boxer takes on Dereck Chisora.
Whyte faced Joshua in 2015 after a vitriolic build-up to the grudge match.
Whyte had beaten Joshua in the amateur ranks but had become dwarfed by his rival’s ascent at the London 2012 Olympics.
Despite becoming the first professional fighter to rock AJ, Whyte’s gung-ho style cost him as he suffered a brutal seventh-round knockout three years ago.
Since then, Whyte (24-1) has gone unbeaten, defeating former world heavyweight champions Lucas Browne and Joseph Parker.
He's living his life but I'm here training
Another scalp in that time was Chisora, who Whyte defeated via split decision on Anthony Joshua’s undercard in 2016.
Much like his bout with Joshua, Whyte endured a heated build-up with Chisora, with the latter throwing a table during a pre-fight press conference.
The pair embraced after their 12-round barnstormer two years ago, however, seemingly showing some respect between the two.
But things are getting frosty once more as the British heavyweights get primed for their December 22 date at The 02 Arena.
Whyte has one eye beyond his 34-year-old opponent, though, and is determined to secure the three belts which Joshua wraps around his waist.
Joshua is currently enjoying time away from fighting, holidaying in Jamaica ahead of his next bout at Wembley Stadium on April 13, for which an opponent has not yet been announced.
Speaking of his adversary, Whyte told Sky Sports: “He's living his life but I'm here training.
“I’m not bothered by what he's doing. He can do what he wants.
“He's doing what all the big stars do. When his time comes to get his whupping, I will give it to him.
“But for now, I will focus on Derek. It's Derek's time now."
