Berwick Bandits pounce
EXPERIENCED Paul Clews was yesterday snapped up by ambitious Berwick Bandits.
Scott Smith is also back in the fold after injury at the expense of Scots-based racer Adam McKinna.
They will track as mid-table Berwick entertain Premier League rookies Scunthorpe Scorpions tonight.
Clews joins former Newport Wasps clubmate Tony Atkin in Berwick's new line-up.
Promoter Peter Waite said: "We've got some team now.
"Clews is a great rider and it's a dream partnership to have him and Atkin in the line-up.
"Smith had a knee injury which the doctors thought was ligament damage and would keep him out for some time.
"But the injury has been re-assessed and he'll be back in the side."
Meanwhile, injury-hit Glasgow Tigers are still seeking a guest rider for crocked Aussie racer Josh Grajczonek.
Tigers face Redcar Bears at Ashfield tomorrow.
