Doctor Who, Before the Flood: FIRST LOOK pictures of Time Lord confronting the Fisher King
LAST week we had terrifying alien ghosts on a spaceship on Doctor Who, now we're going to meet the man - or rather monster - that created them.
Stills from Doctor Who episode Before the Flood
New pictures have been released from this week's episode of Doctor Who called Before the Flood, the concluding part to Under the Lake. The images give a taste of what fans can expect when the tune in this Saturday.
If viewers were creeped out by the homicidal spectres looming large on the underwater base, then they are likely to be left even more unnerved after seeing these images. The most stark image is of the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) finally confronting the Fisher King (Neil Findleton), the terrifying alien creatures behind the deaths of crew.
In the picture, the twelfth Time Lord is seen looking up at the eight-foot creature that stands menacingly above him. In another shot the creature can be seen walking into the space capsule. Just why the Fisher King is killing off people and using them as a transmitter is unknown but whatever the reason, it could spell disaster for Earth.
Speaking about the episode Peter said: "It’s a terrifying, wonderful new creation that’s a formidable enemy for the Doctor. The challenge of defeating this creature is immense, will the Doctor succeed? You’ll have to watch and see."

He went on to talk about the experience of shooting Before the Flood: "Often if the monster is created by CGI then you’ll be looking at a tennis ball stuck on the end of a stick, with someone waving it at you.
"We can do all that, and it’s fine, but some times it’s fantastic to have the creature right there in front of you, and that’s the case of the Fisher King. It was huge as a monster, about 8 foot tall and looming over you. The confrontation between us was done in real time and we played it out as one long scene.”
The role of the Fisher King has been taken on by one of the tallest men in Britain, who is 7.7ft, and towers over Peter's 6.5ft stature. While the bloodcurdling scream of the Fisher King was created by Corey Taylor, the frontman of heavy metal band Slipknot.

Other images show Clara (Jenna Coleman) still on the base with Lunn (Zaqi Ismail) and Cass (Sophie Stone) as they try to contend with the other ghosts, including the apparition of the Doctor that rocked up at the end of last week's episode.
One shot shows a living version of the Victorian-looking ghost that was terrorising the crew. In the photo he is scoping the Doctor out as the Time Lord looks back at him with a less than impressed expression on his face.
