The Fortune Hotel: Stephen Mangan introduces first episode

As the first episode of brand new entertainment series The Fortune Hotel aired on ITV, viewers all issued the same complaint just minutes into the show airing.

The show, which is hosted by Stephen Mangan, saw ten pairs of contestants arriving and checking in at The Fortune Hotel, where they were presented with an all-important briefcase.

Inside one of the cases will be a whopping £25,000, eight will be empty and one will contain the Early Checkout Card, which will mean an early departure for whichever pair is holding it at the end of each episode.

The players will take part in a series of challenges as viewers will be in-the-know about which pairs have which briefcases. At the end of each episode, the duo's will head down to the Lady Luck Bar and decide whether to keep their case or swap it, in the hopes of ultimately winning the life-changing cash prize.

Viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their opinions on the new show as they all compared it to the hit BBC One series The Traitors. One person expressed: "This is going to be some s**t attempt at a rival to the Traitors isn’t it? #thefortunehotel." (sic)
