The has cancelled the celebrity adventure series Trailblazers after an alleged falling out between two of its main stars during filming.

Mel B and Emily Atack are said to have had a disagreement while filming the first series, which involved a journey across the Rocky Mountains with Ruby Wax. The 2022 show saw the celebrities following in the footsteps of Victorian female explorer Isabella Bird.

However, an insider claims that Mel, 43, and Emily, 34, didn't get along, leading to a "frosty" and "quite tense" atmosphere in the US after a dispute halfway through filming.

A source revealed to the Mirror: "Once on set, their personalities definitely clashed and there was one row that was witnessed by several crew members. There was no way back from that at the time."

Another insider added: " BBC bosses had hoped they could create a returning celebrity gang show in the style of Gordon Ramsay, Gino D'Acampo and Fred Sirieix on ITV but it just didn't work out."

"Because Mel and Emily really did not get on, it was tough drumming up that natural chemistry. There were high hopes for the show but it won't be coming back."

The first "trip of a lifetime" for the celebrity trio involved them taking on a series of physical challenges in the Rockies, where brave explorer Isabella trekked more than 800 miles in 1873.

An insider revealed: "The trip was not just a jolly for Mel, Emily and Ruby some of the challenges were quite tough. It was a bit of a pressure cooker environment but Mel and Emily have seen each other since and things were fine between them."

The BBC has announced a number of cuts this week, with comedy series Motherland being dropped by bosses after four series, with lead star Diane Morgan confirming the news.

She told The Times: ""I hate to say it, because I still get women running up to me with prams in the street asking me when it’s coming back."

However, she did hint that the show could see a spin-off, as she added: "It'll live on through her. The ladies with the prams will be pleased, hopefully."
