The Duchess is a new Netflix comedy written and created by Katherine Ryan. Now available to stream on the platform, some viewers have been left wanting to find out more about the cast of the show, including who plays her ex-boyfriend Shep in the series.
Who plays Katherine's ex-boyfriend Shep in The Duchess?
Katherine’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her child Olive is played by Rory Keenan.
His character is called Shep and he is a former musician, living off his one-time fame.
He was one of the stars of a boyband called True Say, which is how he met Katherine when was a groupie.
However, the band has since fallen out of fashion and Shep has been living off the grid on a barge.

Shep is played by 40-year-old Irish actor Keenan who previously appeared as Leopold in Versailles and Eric Dunbar in Striking Out.
Peaky Blinders fans will also recognise him for his turn as Donal in season two.
Keenan has also had roles in War & Peace, Stan Lee’s Lucky Man, Primeval and Birdsong.
In his personal life, the star is married to James Bond and St Trinian’s actor Gemma Arterton.

Canadian stand-up comedian Katherine Ryan stars as Katherine in the new show.
She is a single mother living in London who viewers watch navigate motherhood.
As well as starring in the series, Ryan also created it and wrote it for Netflix.
Viewers will recognise the star from her appearances on panel shows like Would I Lie to You? and Have I Got News For You.
She also presented Your Face or Mine? and has acted in Episodes and Badults.
