Coronation Street: Sinead gets a call from the hospital
Coronation Street has been full of drama recently, yet one storyline which has been very upsetting is Sinead Tinker’s (played by Katie McGlynn).
The mother-to-be has had a terrible time of late.
Nothing’s been easy for Sinead, and it was all made worse when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
It’s all made even more tragic by the fact that she’s also pregnant.
That said, he life will remain in the balance and Katie appeared on Loose Women today to discuss her character’s traumatic story arc.
“Yeah, it is. Very sad,” Katie, who was then asked whether she knew anything about her character’s upcoming storyline.
“No I don’t,” she replied, before adding: “And I quite like that because it makes it more real.”
“All I know is that it’s a long-running story,” she teased.
Could Katie be hinting at Sinead’s survival from stage three cervical cancer?
They then showed a clip from an upcoming episode of Coronation Street in which Sinead gives birth, but she then passes out.
Could Sinead be about to slip into a coma after giving birth?
There is the possibility that Sinead will survive, yet the likelihood of that happening is rather slim.
Katie also spoke about the research she had to do for the character, which was very extensive.
“Well, Corrie have been brilliant,” she began.
“They introduced us to this charity called Mummy Star.
Coronation Street: Daniel tells Sinead he thinks she will die
Katie then spoke of Mummy Star’s founder, Pete Wallroth, whom she had multiple meetings with.
“When I was in a meeting with him [Pete] I felt like a fraud,” she said.
“Like a really fraud. And he was telling me this story of when his wife had cancer, and she found out when she was pregnant.
“She had the baby, and then she died, ten weeks after she gave birth.
“Throughout it all, I did the research, and I’ve been talking to this charity, and they’ve been brilliant,” she finished.
Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
