X Factor 2018: ‘That’s ridiculous’ Michael Bublé hits back at retirement rumours
X FACTOR 2018 continued on ITV tonight with another results show, but this evening’s live episode featured a performance from special guest Michael Bublé.
X Factor: Michael Buble confirms he won't be retiring
Michael Bublé, 43, graced The X Factor stage to perform When I Fall In Love from his upcoming album “Love”, due to be released on November 16.
After delighting fans, Dermot O’Leary, 45, questioned Michael on the recent Daily Mail article suggesting he would be retiring.
Dermot asked: “Please tell me that what we hear isn’t true, that you’re retiring after this?”
Surprised by the question, Michael gasped: “No! What do you mean after this?”
Listen, nothing is important in life - there’s little things that matter. And this is just another wonderful opportunity to love life and just show everybody love and you know, connect!
The show host replied: “No? Well after the album? You can’t retire, right?”
Referring to the Daily Mail’s article, the singer said: “No, that’s ridiculous. Don’t believe it. No way.”
Making sure to confirm, Dermot asked once more: “So you’re not going anywhere? We’ve got him!”
Smiling at the audience, the Canadian star said: “You lot can’t stop this. I love this too much.”
Looking relieved, Dermot chuckled: “My mum’s not going to kill me!”
Presenter Dermot then asked Michael if he could offer any words of advice to the contestants.
He said: “Ah listen, our acts have got a big night ahead of them tonight.
“They’re all getting very nervous now. Any advice for them?”
Following Michael’s tough couple of years after his son Noah was diagnosed with cancer in October 2016, Michael revealed his different outlook on life.
He said: “Yeah, don’t be nervous. Listen, nothing is important in life - there’s little things that matter.
“And this is just another wonderful opportunity to love life and just show everybody love and you know, connect!”
Viewers at home instantly took to social media following Michael’s performance.
