The singer has ordered all staff on her comeback tour to be prepared to take random tests. Her tough measures are expected to include all 225 crew members, plus 45 musicians and dancers, 15 circus performers and about 150 local crew in each stop on the month-long Circus tour of Australia.

“Britney’s rule is clear – zero tolerance,” a concert industry source said. “If you don’t comply, you don’t tour.

“We’re not even allowed to have a beer or glass of wine with a meal, even on days off.” It’s a far cry from the days when a judge labelled hera “habitual, frequent and continuous” user of drink and drugs, But Britney, 27, has to be on her best behaviour to keep custody of her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Britney is using the tour to recover from image-crippling events like her bizarre head-shaving and a ridiculed performance at the MTV Music Awards.
