Mumbai siege 'a terror role model'
Anti-terror officials in the US said the Mumbai attacks may become a model for low-frills terrorism groups to follow.
At a Senate hearing, the FBI's Donald Van Duyn said the attacks that left 164 dead in India show how simple weaponry can inflict massive casualties.
Van Duyn was testifying along with Homeland Security officials about the lessons learned from the attacks in November.
Van Duhn, the FBI's chief intelligence officer, told politicians that as much as governments worry about chemical, biological, or radiological attacks, Mumbai may encourage other terror groups to attempt similar low-tech violence.
