Arrested Romanian beggar complains officers never offered him CAKE and a FAG
A ROMANIAN beggar insulted two Austrian police officers in his native tongue as they tried to arrest him - only to find one of them spoke his language.
The Romanian beggar hurled abuse at the Austrian police officers
Police were called to a residential street in the town of Vocklabruck, to reports of a man knocking on doors and becoming aggressive when approached.
A good samaritan called the police after he tried to speak to the beggar, who spoke little German.
The beggar instead hurled a volley of insults in Romanian at him, becoming aggressive and telling him he would beg where he wanted.
The beggar had hoped the officered would give him a cigarette
When officers arrived, the man was about to flee into a nearby field.
After stopping him, they checked his identity and found he had previous convictions for begging, Tips reported.
The 34-year-old beggar, who lived almost 200 miles away in Klagenfurt, then started swearing and insulting the police officers in Romanian.
One of the officers spoke Romanian and understood the barrage of abuse
But he was amazed to discover one of the police officers spoke Romanian and understood him perfectly.
The beggar had reportedly thrown "a whole repertoire" of insults and provocations at the two lawmen, compounding his situation further.
Among the less X-rated insults was his complaint that the police had not been "hospitable" - and had expected an offer of coffee and cake, and a cigarette at the very least.
The Romanian man was apparently taken into custody but his current status is unknown.
