'A man reaps what he sows': Texas governor sparks outrage with homophobic tweet
A TEXAS politician tweeted the homophobic message, ‘A man reaps what he sows’ hours after 50 people were horrifically murdered in a gay club in Orlando.
The governor wrote the shocking tweet after the tragic shooting
Lieutenant Governor of Texas Dan Patrick - a fierce anti-LGBT campaigner - posted a picture of a psalm implying men are responsible for their own fate.
The politician has faced backlash on social media since the chilling tweet was sent, just hours after the worst terror attack on US soil since 9/11.
The posts were released on Sunday morning, shortly after 50 people were killed in a shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando.

The governor then released a Facebook statement regarding the bible verse post.

He said: “This morning, as every Sunday morning for the past several years, we post a verse from scripture. Those posts are chosen in advance and scheduled in advance As noted the media earlier, the post from Galatians, that received many hateful comments, was put on the schedule Thursday. Our scripture was not posted in reaction to the shooting.”
He also said that he had decided against removing the Facebook post and tweet because God’s word is never wrong and taking down his word would be like tearing a page from the Bible.

On Twitter, Don Harris said: ”Dan Patrick's "reap what you sow" tweet is astounding. Total lack of grace, love and compassion. Can't call urself a christian without those.”
Another Twitter user, Matthew Chapman, called for the governor to resign.
He said: “Resign Dan Patrick. Saying mass shooting victims “reap what they sow” is completely outside of acceptable behaviour for an elected official.”
