Dust storm 100 MILES WIDE smothers huge part of USA
A DUST storm 100 miles wide has engulfed vast swathes of Texas.

In scenes reminiscent of a blockbuster movie, the southern US state braced itself as the impenetrable cloud moved across the Panhandle, the collective term for the northern 26 counties.
The National Weather Service said the phenomenon was caused by 60mph winds which had whipped up dirt and sand from nearby states Colorado and Kansas.
Dry conditions helped contribute to the towering shadow, which measured 2,000 feet into the sky.
The weather system was so vast it was picked up on the National Weather Service radar.

Luckily for residents, despite the dust blanketing most of the area, The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed no injuries were reported.
