With wombs for rent, it’s easy to arrive at eugenics and Naziism
Deputy Senate Leader Maurizio Gasparri ranted about the iconic singer ahead of a crucial vote on gay rights in the Italian parliament.
He said: “With wombs for rent, it’s easy to arrive at eugenics and Naziism.”
Maurizio Gasparri said Sir Elton was 'vile'
The comments comes as Sir Elton gets ready to perform at the Sanremo Music Festival in Italy in March.
Mr Gasparri urged the singer, who has two sons by surrogate mothers, not to use the performance - which is expected to be seen on TV by 10million Italians - to promote equal rights for gay people.

The comments come after an attempt by Italian conservatives and senior Catholics to stop civil partnerships, similar to the ones introduced in Britain in 2005.
The matter has been put together in a bill by left-leaning Senator Monica Cirinni.
If the plans pass into law, Italy will become the last large Western country to introduce same-sex civil unions.

This is not the first time that Mr Gasparri has made controversial comments.
He is currently embrolied in a legal battle with Italian rapper Fedez after the teenage star referred to the politician as a "pig", and he came to the attention of English people after he described them as "pretentious p*****".
He was first elected as a member of the post-fascist National Alliance party.
Elton John marries
Sir Elton took part in one of the first British civil partnerships in 2005, and he got married to David Furnish nine years later - once gay marriage was put on Britain's statute books.
The singer, who has two children, Zachary and Elijah, with Mr Furnish, has not commented on the matter.
