Andreas Lubitz has been accused of deliberately crashing the Germanwings plane

It is believed that Lubitz, 27, had surfed the internet for diuretic drugs before doomed Flight 4U 9525 smashed into the French Alps - killing all 150 people on board.

Diuretics are substances which increase the need to urinate.

It is believed that Lubitz locked 36-year-old captain Patrick Sondenheim out of the cockpit area after he went to the toilet.

Lubitz is then suspected of deliberately accelerating the aircraft into its tragic descent into the mountainside on March 24.

Express.de claims the latest information regarding his internet search came directly from his computer seized by Dusseldorf prosecutors shortly after the disaster last month.

His computer is still being trawled by detectives to try and determine a motive for the devastating crash.

The website goes on to say that it "speculates" Lubitz may have acquired a diuretic to pour into the drink of his captain, accelerating his need to use an on-board bathroom.

Prosecutors refused to comment on the report, while more information obtained from his computer files is expected to be released later this week.

Investigators into the crash have found that Lubitz had searched online for ways to kill himself just 24 hours before the crash.

While medical records reportedly showed that the co-pilot was also taking medicines for depression, anxiety disorders and panic attacks.

The co-pilot is alleged to have lied to doctors by telling them he was on sick leave rather than flying commercial planes.

Meanwhile, a memorial service is planned for all victims of the Germanwings crash at Cologne Cathedral on April 17.

Lufthansa, the parent company of Germanwings, has asked all pilots attending to not wear uniforms out of fear that it could distress some family members.
