The 21 month old went missing in 1991 in Kos

Ben, from Sheffield, was just 21 months old when he vanished in July 1991 on Kos while travelling with his mother and grandparents.

The £700,000 will allow British police to follow up information the family – led by Ben’s mother Kerry, 42, and sister Leighanna, 20 – believe has never been properly investigated.

The Needhams handed over a file including eight sightings of a boy who could be Ben with one Greek family.

Mrs Needham said: “I believe one way or another they will find out what happened to him.”
