Biden will not supply Ukraine with rockets which can hit Russia
Joe Biden has confirmed the US will not supply Ukraine with long-range rockets which can reach Russia.
The 46th US President appeared set to ease tensions between Washington and Moscow on Monday amid concerns about the potential deployment of long-range missiles.
The White House had reportedly been mulling over pleas from Kyiv to hand over multiple-launch rocket systems.
However, Mr Biden told reporters yesterday: "We are not going to send to Ukraine rocket systems that can strike into Russia."
The multiple-launch rocket systems can have a range of up to 185miles.
But others use rockets with shorter ranges of between 20 and 40miles.
According to the Guardian, the meaning behind Mr Biden's remark remains unclear.

Putin humiliated as Russian army nearing ‘cut-off point’ as estimated 30k troops dead
The Russian military is on the brink of collapse in Ukraine and is coming to a point "where it can't take any more losses", according to a military expert.
Russia has lost an estimated 30,000 troops in Ukraine, but according to reports, President Vladimir Putin believes it is a "blood sacrifice" worth paying.
However, Putin's ambitions have had to be scaled back in the face of fierce Ukrainian resistance with plans to take Kyiv failing.
Bruce Jones, an expert on Russian intelligence and military affairs, told The Daily Mirror that there will be a "cut-off point" where Russian forces can't take anymore.
He said: "There has to be a point when Russian forces cannot take any more losses, a cut-off point.
"This would be a straw that broke the camel’s back moment, where units would no longer be able to function as a fighting force because they are so depleted."

A Ukrainian MP has ruled out negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, waning that Kyiv's war with Moscow may continue "to the death".
Kira Rudik, leader of the Golos party, told GB News that if Ukraine went into "peaceful negotiations" there would be doubt that Putin would keep his side of the bargain.
Host Nigel Farage started by asking Ms Rudik if this was now "literally a war to the end".
He asked the Ukrainian politician: "How does this end?
"I know your leader has said there can be no negotiations until Russians completely leave Ukrainian soil.
"So is this now literally a war to the very end, to the death?"
Ms Rudik the former CEO of Ring Ukraine said that after eight years of war with Putin there was no chance of negotiations.

Zelenksy says Russia is a terrorist state
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked EU leaders why Ukraine is still not recognised as a terrorist state.
During his address to EU leaders via videoconference, Mr Zelensky recalled European Council President Charles Michel's recent visit to Ukraine, during which Michel and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal had to take shelter after a missile attack set off air raid sirens.
Mr Zelensky said: "Mr President Michel, you were recently in Odesa and were forced to take shelter due to a missile attack.
"Mr. President has felt for himself what I am talking about now. And if this was felt even at such level, why is Russia still not recognized as a terrorist state? A state sponsor of terrorism?”

Russian forces seized more than a third of the area after Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. Donbas is predominantly Russian-speaking and Putin has repeatedly spoken about "liberating" it completely.
Despite sharing a language, these areas are no longer pro-Russian.
Defence specialist Konrad Muzyka, head of Rochan Consulting, said: "Mariupol was one of the most pro-Russian cities in Ukraine and to level it is beyond my comprehension."

Russia suffering 'devastating losses' and 'mutinies'
Russia is suffering "devastating losses" in Ukraine, according to the British Ministry of Defence.

It said a "large proportion" of the losses are mid and junior ranking officers which will "likely exacerbate its ongoing problems in modernising its approach to command and control."
"With multiple credible reports of localised mutinies amongst Russia’s forces in Ukraine, a lack of experienced and credible platoon and company commanders is likely to result to a further decrease in morale and continued poor discipline," the ministry added.
