Soldiers shot in Falklands exercise
Military police are investigating after three soldiers were injured in a shooting incident on the Falkland Islands.
The men - understood to be from the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland - were wounded during a live fire training exercise on East Falkland island.
They were evacuated to King Edward Hospital in Stanley by helicopter, with one of the men later flown back to the UK for treatment.
The Ministry of Defence has not commented on the condition of the three men, but next of kin have been informed.
It happened last Tuesday at the Onion Range, which is on a remote part of East Falkland.
A statement said: "We can confirm that an incident occurred on October 27 in which three members of service personnel, serving in the Falkland Islands, received injuries that required hospital treatment."
The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders are currently serving in the Falklands. Companies are regularly posted to the islands to carry out protection duties and training.
