Whoopee, science is fun
A BRITISH scientist is conducting tests – to see what kind of whoopee cushion makes us laugh the most.
Acoustics expert Professor Trevor Cox has set up a website that plays six different parping noises.
Visitors simply have to vote for the one they find the most amusing.
Professor Cox, who normally designs concert halls, was asked to set up the experiment by Comic Relief. They want thousands of people to cast votes before Red Nose Day on March 13.
Prof Cox, from Salford University, said: “The whoopee cushion has much in common with the human voice and how wind instruments work, so it is a memorable way of portraying some important science.”
