It was shamefully funny, I couldn't stop laughing

Appearing at Ormskirk Magistrates Court, she was sentenced to three months prison.

Next door neighbour Bobby Stacey, 51, had fitted the cameras after his tools had been stolen.

His neighbour had asked him to check the footage after half his lawnhad disappeared.

The two women are seen shamelessly going back and forth with the turf seven times.

Mr Stacey said: "It was shamefully funny, I couldn't stop laughing.

"A while back I had some tools stolen from the shed, a week later all the locks had been cut off and my mountain bike had been stolen so I had CCTV stolen.

"It took about 40 minutes to an hour - half way through they stopped and had a smoke and a sit down on my wall.

"It was next door's garden, he'd spent all day levelling the ground making sure it was really neat, he'd done a fantastic job.

"I went in to work, and I had a phone call from my neighbour asking to check my CCTV because the turf had been stolen. I couldn't believe it.

"It was about 5am in the morning, it was dark when they started but when they finished it had got light.

"It was cheeky, but the turf must have cost at most £30, it doesn't even seem worth it.

"I don't know where they took the turf to because that's off camera but they must have been loading it up somewhere. It's ridiculous."
