Dementia cure close
BRITISH scientists are a step closer to curing Alzheimer’s disease after creating the world’s first artificial brain cells.
By using tumour cells to create artificial ones that are identical to the human nervous system, researchers say they hope it will help them understand how degenerative brain diseases develop.
Prof Michael Coleman, who led the research at Aston University in Birmingham, said: “This is a step closer to finding a cure. In five years, I would hope to get some answers.”
