Shamed bishop back in UK after denying existence of Nazi gas chambers
A ROMAN Catholic bishop who is at the centre of a shocking Holocaust denial row arrived back in the UK today.
British-born Richard Williamson was thrown out of Argentina after making “deeply offensive” comments about the Holocaust in a television interview last month.
He was asked to leave the country - where he has been living at the St Pius X seminary in Buenos Aires – after stating there were no gas chambers in Nazi concentration camps during the Second World War.

The bishop is reported to have claimed in a Swedish television interview last month that historical evidence was “hugely against six million having been deliberately gassed in gas chambers as a deliberate policy of Adolf Hitler."
He added: “I believe there were no gas chambers.
“I think that 200,000 to 300,000 Jews perished in Nazi concentration camps, but none of them in gas chambers.”
The Holocaust denial row has deeply embarrassed the Vatican, which ordered Bishop Williamson to retract his comments.
I believe there were no gas chambers.
The Catholic Church in England and Wales has added that he must do so before he can “enter into full communion with the Church”.
Williamson flew into London Heathrow airport this morning where he was met by a crowd of international media and an armed police guard.
Lord Janner, President of the Holocaust Educational Trust said: “It would be much better if he was not here, but as a British citizen it cannot be prevented.”
