Oliver Dearlove was hit in the head by Trevor Timon, a jury heard
In an “unprovoked and senseless” attack, Oliver Dearlove crashed to the ground as Trevor Timon hit him in the head, jurors were told.
Timon, 31, was angry because Mr Dearlove was talking to a woman he knew, it was alleged.
Dearlove was allegedly talking to a woman Timon knew
Mr Dearlove, 30, who once worked for Coutts, and two friends were chatting to three young women outside a south London nightclub on August 28 last year.
One of them had taken off her high heels and Mr Dearlove asked: “Do your feet hurt?”
The woman replied: “My feet are killing me.”
The group had a “polite and friendly” chat.
But the mood outside Mordens in Blackheath turned as Timon asked: “What are you doing talking to these girls?”
He allegedly told Mr Dearlove: “If you don’t move I’ll knock you out.”
The 30-year-old worked in Victoria and lived with his girlfriend in New Eltham
One woman put herself between Timon and the friends but he struck Mr Dearlove on the head, it is alleged.
Anthony Orchard, prosecuting, said Mr Dearlove collapsed and was pronounced dead less than 24 hours later.
Timon, of Plumstead, admits manslaughter but denies murder.
Mr Dearlove worked for a bank in Victoria.
He lived with his girlfriend Claire Wheatley in New Eltham, south London.
The trial continues.
