Alongside the Chapel, common room and quiet room, the room, with its ambient floor level lighting, giant sized bean bags, scented candles, and eye masks, it is an invitation to a haven of tranquillity and calm.
The Reverend Nick Griffin said it had been put in place to help those juggling studying with family life and work commitments.
The University of St Mark & St John has set up a 24-hour room with beanbags and eye-masks
He said: "Sleep is important to students and they often talk to us about problems with juggling studying with family life and work commitments, and we know that a lack of sleep is one of the biggest negative factors affecting the brain's cognitive function.
