UK schools may be forced to change registration forms as they're OFFENSIVE to Italians
SCHOOLS will reportedly be forced to change the registration forms asking parents to specify their child’s nationality because it is OFFENSIVE to Italians.
Officials have moaned the online registration forms
Officials from Rome have moaned online papers which ask whether a pupil is Italian, Italian Neapolitan or Italian Sicilian are “discriminatory”.
The country’s ambassador to the UK, Pasquale Terracciano says he has written to the British Foreign Offie to ask for the immediate removal of “the undue ethnic characterisation”.
He said: “Italy is a united country since 1861. There were initiatives taken locally, probably motivated by willingness to assess special language needs of the students.
“But good intentions can become discriminatory and offensive.”
Italians say it is offensive
If we can have forms saying 'white Irish' or 'white British' or a whole host of other options why deny the Italians the same?
UKIP MEP Jane Collins described the complaints as "pathetic" saying these are "the sorts of people who would find fault in a greetings card."
She said: ”Italy is a country with different communities and defined characteristics.
“Having worked with Italians in the European Parliament they see eye to eye on many issues as often as northern and southern Britons.
“If we can have forms saying 'white Irish' or 'white British' or a whole host of other options why deny the Italians the same?”

Ms Collins added: "This type of divisive questioning is nothing more than political correctness gone mad."
