The former Scottish National Party leader, 61, shunned an offer to go on the programme – saying ITV were desperate to snag his signature for the show down under.
He said: "They said I was 'down to earth, engaging, brilliant, witty', that I would do very well on their show and they would pay me pots of money.

The ITV show has also tried to sign Nigel Farage for next series, but the fee has reportedly proved a sticking point.
