A coach was daubed with a swastika during the clashes in Dover
Violence erupted in Dover and bricks were hurled as anti-migrant groups marched to voice their anger at the crisis in Calais.
Police officers were caught in the crossfire as the anti-racism protesters traded insults with their opponents amid scenes of chaos in the Kent port town.
A number of coaches on their way to the demonstration were damaged at a service station at Junction 8 of the M20, with the windows of one vehicle being smashed and an elderly driver injured.
An anti-racism protester tweeted the incident and also took a picture of the swastika that had been daubed on the coach which he posted on his Twitter account.
Three men were arrested during the demonstration and six others arrested during a clash, linked to the protest, at a service station near Maidstone.
More than 20 weapons were seized in total at Dover and the M20 services, including a lock-knife, knuckle duster, poles adapted to cause harm, pieces of wood, glass, hammers and bricks.
