Snout of order: Pub bans pint-swilling pig for headbutting regulars

MOST pub landlords confronted with an unruly regular who drinks too much would impose a ban.

But Ian Taylor-Ross’s problem punter is… his pet pig.

It helps that Ian has imposed a no-booze rule on the Vietnamese Pot-Belly called Frances Bacon.

He was forced to take action when the pig began supping from discarded pints and head-butting customers.

Things got worse when regulars at the Conquering Hero pub in West Norwood, south London, gave her a beer.

Frances also enjoyed a salty snack – including, bizarrely, pork scratchings.

The snacks have now been moved to a higher shelf.

Ian, 43, and his wife Vicky, 39, have raised the four-year-old pig since she was just six weeks old but now she is fully grown she can be a bit of a handful.

Ian said: “We’ve had to bar her from having a beer.

"She managed to nick a pint or two and then started butting into people.”

Ideally, Frances should be on a vegetarian diet.

Vicky said: “She doesn’t have a clue that pork scratchings are her relatives.”

She is popular with the couple’s children, Tavis, nine, Ruby, six, and three-year-old Mary and the family can be regularly seen walking her on a lead.

She is also a big hit with most customers.

Vicky said: “She’s just like a dog really, only craftier.”
