Police are working to determine the origin of the rock, thought to have been used in the attack

And it has emerged TWO more women were followed by the same man just hours before.

The 18-year-old victim was waiting at a bus stop in Leeds, West Yorkshire, when the sex attacker pushed her into a nearby garden and hit her over the head with a stone before raping her.

Police are treating the attack on Friday March 6 as both an attempted murder and rape.

New footage shows the attacker walking the streets just two hours before the attack which left the girl with serious head injuries and a fractured hip.

The CCTV came to light after two other women came forward with reports they were followed by a man on the night of the rape.

Police said the man is "of Pakistani or Middle Eastern origin" and has a "distinctive walk" with a possible limp.

I cannot stress enough how important it is that we trace and arrest this man at the very earliest opportunity

Detective Superintendent Nick Wallen, West Yorkshire Police

Detectives have also released an image of the rock the rapist used to hit his victim over the head with more than 20 times in an alleged attempt to murder her.

Earlier in the week, police released the video showing the moment the attacker wrestled the girl to the ground.

Hiding behind a wall of bushes next to a busy road, police believe the suspect then raped the victim in the front garden of a house before walking off.

Detective Superintendent Nick Wallen, from West Yorkshire Police, said: "These are the most detailed images yet of the man involved in this terrible crime and they paint a very clear picture of him.

"We are urgently appealing for anyone who thinks they know who he is to contact us immediately.

"I cannot stress enough how important it is that we trace and arrest this man at the very earliest opportunity.

"These latest images show in detail the clothing he is wearing, consisting of a green Puma hooded top with a large logo on the front, dark coloured jeans with faded areas on the thighs, white trainers and a dark-coloured bomber jacket with a hood.

"The description remains of him being of Pakistani or Middle Eastern origin, aged in his early twenties, slim, with receding black hair.

"We are asking people to think very carefully about all these elements and put them together with the e-fit image we have released and the other CCTV footage showing his size, build and movements, particularly his distinctive walk that shows he possibly has a limp.

"I want people to think about whether these various elements match anyone they may have seen in the area or if they have any suspicions about someone they know."

Police said the suspect had a 'distinctive walk', and may have had a limp

The footage shows the suspect hanging around a Tesco Express store in the Burley area of Leeds, three miles from the attack in the terraced garden by the bus stop on busy Beeston Road.

Describing an image of the stone police believe was used in the attack, Det Supt Wallen added: "It was recovered from the scene and we believe the offender brought it with him to use as a weapon.

"It is quite distinctive as an object and we would ask people to let us know if they recognise it as something that has come from their garden or elsewhere, particularly if they live somewhere on his route towards the crime scene along Cemetery Road from the direction of Holbeck.

"The stone has been subject to extensive forensic examination and we are working with a specialist geologist to establish where it may have come from.

"We are continuing to receive an excellent response from the public following our previous appeals for information and we continue to urge anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation to get in touch immediately.

"Officers from the local neighbourhood policing are maintaining increased patrols in the area to provide visible reassurance to the community and are working closely with key contacts in the community to keep people informed as the investigation progresses."

Anyone with any information on the attack is urged to contact West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team on 01924 334710.
