Sir Terry Pratchett – a look back at the DiscWorld author's Top 10 quotes

Having sold more than 70million books in over 30 languages during his career, the author's Twitter account simply posted "The End", this afternoon.

To celebrate the life of one of Briton's most successful novelists, Express.co.uk has rounded-up some of his best quotes:

#10 – Speaking in April 2009, two years after he revealed he had been diagnosed with posterior cortical atrophy disease - a form of dementia.

"If I had been Terry Pratchett the farmer, or Terry Pratchett the dentist, nobody would have paid any attention if I had announced I had Alzheimer's. But there is something fascinating about an author losing the power over words."
