Jeremy Clarkson, who has been suspended from the BBC after a "fracas with a producer", laughed and cracked jokes as he prepared to watch Chelsea take on Paris Saint Gear in the Champions League clash.

Earlier today, the suspended Top Gear presenter appeared to be in jovial spirits despite expressing some regret at his actions.

He told reporters and photographers: "I'm off to the Job Centre"

He added: "At least I'll make the Chelsea game now."

Clarkson was suspended by the BBC last night "following a fracas with a producer" - believed to be a bust-up with Top Gear crew member Oisin Tymon.

The incident, believed to have take place after filming in Newcastle, was sparked by a lack of catering on set, it is reported.

Clarkson allegedly aimed a punch at a male producer last week, with the incident believed to have been reported to the corporation yesterday, the Radio Times reported.

But the controversial presenter has received support from Prime Minister David Cameron, who described him as a "friend."

Describing Clarkson as a "great talent", Mr Cameron who is the presenter's local MP, told BBC Midlands his children would be "heartbroken" if TopGear was cancelled.
