The Everton fans – who have not been named – borrowed a wheelchair to gain access to the disabled section of Stoke City's Britannia Stadium.

The brazen supporters, who feigned the disability after tickets in the stands sold out for the March 4 match, bragged about the sick stunt on Facebook.

We're scum aren't we? We're going to hell for what we did in Stoke

Writing on the 'Football Bible' Facebook page, one of the unnamed pranksters boasted: "Me and my mate decided to go to Stoke away last minute on Wednesday.

"The only spare ticket we could get was in the disabled section though. So he borrowed a wheelchair from work and I went as his carer.

"We're scum aren't we? We're going to hell for what we did in Stoke."

Facebook users flooded to the post – and were quickly divided over whether the wheelchair stunt was hilarious or sickening.

One man, Anthony Hanna, encouraged the pranksters by posting: "Your not scum you are legends. (sic)"

Another, Jack Banny Bannister, branded the two supporters who feigned a disability a "class act" before joking "lucky Everton didn't score otherwise the game would be up when they got on their feet cheering!"

But a number of fans have blasted the unnamed duo on the Football Bible page.

Ollie Baskaran slammed the stunt, posting: "Legends? C***s more like.

"I'm a wheelchair user and every time I have to book disabled tickets for anywhere, I have to send paperwork etc just to prove I'm disabled."

Everton lost 2-0 to Stoke at the Britannia Stadium last Wednesday, due to goals from Stoke winger Victor Moses and striker Mame Diouf.

Stoke City confirmed the club had been made aware of the two fans' online boasts, but said it was up to Everton to take action.

A spokesman said: "We have been made aware of the claims of two Everton fans that they gained access to last week's game at the Britannia Stadium masquerading as a disabled supporter in a wheelchair and carer.

"If their claims prove correct and the people concerned can be identified, it will be for Everton to take action against them as appropriate."

A spokeswoman for Everton said: "We will not be making a comment."
