REVEALED: Britain's worst streets for motorists where drivers are clobbered by fines
BRITAIN’S streets of shame where motorists are being stung for more than £1million a year in parking fines can be revealed yesterday.
Drivers were hit with £343million in parking fines last year alone
Official figures for 2013-14 show Chiswick High Road, in Hounslow, west London, had the highest fine income.
It generated 23,870 tickets, hauling in a total of £1.36million.
The majority of the offences were picked up by CCTV cameras spotting illegal parkers or drivers in bus lanes.
Outside the capital, Birmingham’s Alum Rock Road hauled in £257,000, Liverpool’s Old Haymarket bus lane generated £154,000 and Southend’s London Road raked in £133,448.
