The British number one is due to marry his fiancee Kim Sears next month just five days after the final of the Miami Open, which is one of the Scot's favourite tournaments.

He also owns an apartment in the city's trendy waterfront Brickell district and has held winter training camps in Florida throughout his career.

Speaking two years ago, he said: "Miami's a very laid-back city.

"You can do whatever you want here.

"They have nice beaches, on South Beach there are lots of shops, a good party life, and there are very good restaurants all over the city."

Now tourism bosses hope he will consider holding his "bachelor party" in one of Miami's famous hotels or nightclubs.

Suzie Sponder, director of media relations, Europe and Asia at Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, said: "Andy should definitely consider holding his bachelor party in Miami, after the Miami Open is concluded of course.

"Whether he’s looking for a lively beach, nightlife or a bit of culture, he’ll definitely find it in Miami.

"South Beach is the perfect place to soak up the sun and the art-deco sights, he’ll find the best street art in the world in the Wynwood Arts District, great luxury fashion and design outlets in the Miami Design District and the up and coming Downtown neighborhood is great for browsing shops and museums.

"Miami is best seen from the water, perhaps Andy might like to do some boating or engage in some water based activities.

"And, as a sports fan, perhaps Andy might like to catch the action of a Miami Heat basketball game?

"Whatever his interests, we’ll make sure that he has a bachelor party to remember."

Miami is the third most popular destination for stag and hen parties in the USA, behind Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Last year, Prince Harry jetted over for his friend Guy Pelly's stag weekend at in the historic Fontainebleau Miami Beach complex.

The prince and his pals enjoyed a meal at the Hakkasan restaurant before heading to the resort’s famous LIV nightclub.

In 2011, former England rugby player Mike Tindall partied at the same venue before his marriage to Zara Phillips at the Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh.

The marathon three-day affair saw Tindall and nine friends enjoy pool parties, steak dinners and a boozy trip to LIV, where they racked up a bar bill of $20,000.

Murray - who rarely drinks alcohol - is likely to favour a much more restrained approach.

In 2009, he celebrated winning the Miami Open - which is known as the 'fifth grand slam' - with dinner at Nobu, a Japanese restaurant on South Beach.

He said afterwards: "I don't enjoy going out.

"I don't find it fun.

"The music is so loud, you can't hear yourself speak and you wake up with a sore throat.

"I just don't enjoy it.

"Last night, Kim had a strawberry cocktail and I had a little sip of it.

"I can see why people do it, but for me I don't like waking up in the morning feeling rough."

The Miami Open runs from March 25 to April 5, with the wedding due to take place at Murray's Cromlix hotel near his home town of Dunblane, Perthshire, on April 11.
