FORMER Chelsea and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has been fined today for going 17mph over the speed limit.
Fernando Torres spent seven years in the Premier League playing for Liverpool and Chelsea
The ex-Premier League star was given four points and a £400 fine in absence, after being convicted of speeding at Staines Magistrates' Court on Friday.
He was clocked driving 47mph on a lane in Cobham, Surrey, which has a 30mph speed limit on August 18 last year.
The 30-year-old spent seven years playing in England's top flight for Liverpool and then Chelsea.
He enjoyed a prolific period at Anfield before he moved to Stamford Bridge in 2011 for £50million.

The move marked the most expensive transfer fee paid between two British clubs and at the time was the highest fee paid for a player in the UK.
Despite winning the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League at Chelsea Torres was widely criticised in the media for his poor goal scoring form.
He moved to AC Milan on loan on August 31 2014, a few weeks after being clocked speeding 17mph over the limit in the UK.
Fernando Torres re-joined his former club Atletico Madrid last month
Torres, who is a World Cup and Euro 2008 and 2012 winner, returned to his native country of Spain last month.
He was bought by AC Milan and then immediately loaned out to his former La Liga club Atletico Madrid.
He has since started to rediscover his form, scoring against Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
