Paramedic Dharamendra Narotam spoke at the inquest yesterday

The revelation came after a coroner was told the body of James Harrison, 32, was left lying next to rubbish bins at Ely Ambulance Station, Cambs, for more than two hours.

Mr Harrison collapsed and died in the street in Littleport, Cambs, on September 24 last year. First responder Dharamendra Narotam attended along with a paramedic crew.

Mr Harrison was found just as paramedics David Glenton and Ann-Marie Poole were due to complete a 15-hour shift.

Mr Narotam told them the body could be left at the station and collected by a local undertaker later.
