'He is getting stronger each day' Former football star Clarke Carlisle WAKES from coma
FORMER footballer Clarke Carlisle has woken from a coma.
Police want to question him about how he came to be struck by a lorry while walking close to a busy dual carriageway near Bishopthorpe, York, on December 22.
The incident came two days after the reformed alcoholic was arrested and charged with drink-driving in London.
The former head of the Professional Footballers’ Association and father of three is in Leeds General Infirmary.
Wife Gemma revealed on Twitter yesterday: “He is getting better and stronger each day.”
Carlisle, 35, will face magistrates on the drink-drive allegation when he has recovered.
